Sarah-Jane Beasley

“I love the technique of colouring and how the wash makes it so different.”

Sarah-Jane loves animals. A lot of her work is about animals. When she was younger she spent a lot of time with her granddad who did oil paintings of horses, and she used to paint with him.

Sarah-Jane draws pictures of animals. Sometimes they are from her imagination, inspired from doodles in her sketch book that she works in at home. Other times she takes inspiration from animal books and visits to animal safari parks, then recalls what she sees and draws them.

Sarah-Janes enjoys the rhythmic process of using her coloured pencils to create her drawings. She blends the pencils with water to then create paintings. There is a great sense of movement and sensitivity in her pencil work providing Sarah-Jane with a sense of self worth and achievement which is important to her in her work.

Sarah-Jane’s ‘Dog Breed’ collection has proved to be very popular and she has sold several artworks in the ArtStudio01 group exhibitions.
